Do my phone and PC need to be on the same network?
Yes. To ensure maximum privacy and instant typing speed without relying on an internet middleman, both your phone and PC must be connected to the same local Wi-Fi network.
Because everything stays on your network, your words never leave your home or office.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Currently, the desktop companion application only runs on Windows 10 and 11. The mobile app pairs with the Windows desktop app to do the typing.
Mac and Linux support isn’t available yet — keep an eye on the changelog for news.
Why does Windows Firewall ask for permission?
On the first run, Windows Firewall may ask to allow access. You should allow it on private networks (like your home or office) so your phone and PC can communicate locally.
You do not need to allow public-network access. This prompt is simply Windows confirming that the app may listen for your phone on your own network.
